  8. Product:           AMI BIOS
  9.  
  10. Problem:              Incompatibility with user defined Novell 386 Netware, 
  11.                       Version 3.1.
  12.  
  13. Problem Description:  With the new version of Novell (386 Netware, 
  14.                       Version 3.1) user defined drive type feature available
  15.                       under AMI BIOS does not work.
  16.  
  17. Explanation:          The AMI BIOS keeps user defined drive parameters in
  18.               ROM address space and sets the pointer INT 41H 
  19.               (for drive C:) and INT 46H (for drive D:) accordingly.
  20.  
  21.                       INT 41H points to F7FA:003D (if user define C: present).
  22.  
  23.               INT 46H points to F7FA:004D (if user define d: present).
  24.  
  25.                   Novell does not work with these pointers, but it works 
  26.                       if the pointers are as follows:

  28.                       INT 41H ---> F000: 7FDD (basically same as F7FA:003D)
  29.  
  30.                       INT 46H ---> F000: 7FED (basically same as F7FA:004D)
  31.  
  32. Solution:           USERNOV.COM can be used to change the pointer(s) and
  33.               make Novell work.
  34.  
  35. Future Plans:         AMI BIOS will be modified to be compatible with
  36.               Novell Netware, Version 3.1. The expected release
  37.               date is not yet known.
